What to bring for your stay?
During your 12 week stay at the Family Assessment Centre, we recommend bringing the following items to ensure a comfortable and supportive environment:

Sufficient clothing for yourself and your child, including appropriate attire for different weather conditions. Pack enough changes of clothes for daily use.
Basic toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and any other personal care items you prefer to use.
If possible, bring your child’s favorite blanket, pillow, or stuffed animal for their comfort. We also provide clean and comfortable bedding if needed.
Bring your child’s essentials, including diapers, wipes, formula/baby food, bottles, and any comfort items they may need.
If you or your child require prescription medications, bring an adequate supply for the entire stay along with any necessary medical documentation.
Bring any relevant identification documents, medical records (red book), or legal documentation that may be required during your assessment.
Bring any personal items that can contribute to a sense of familiarity and comfort for both you and your child, such as family photos, favorite toys, or books.
Bring sufficient funds for personal expenses, including transportation costs, meals outside of provided meals, and any additional items you may need during your stay.
Please note that the Family Assessment Centre also provides basic necessities and essential items to ensure your well-being and that of your child. Our dedicated staff members are available to support and guide you in identifying any additional items you may require during your stay
Our well-maintained, fully furnished living spaces prioritize the safety and comfort of families. We create a nurturing environment that fosters family bonding and growth.
Our experienced and compassionate professionals are available to offer ongoing support, guidance, and supervision throughout the assessment process. They work closely with families to address individual needs and concerns.
We have designated assessment rooms where parents can engage in one-on-one sessions with key workers and social workers. These private spaces promote open and honest discussions, facilitating effective communication and progress.
We provide well-equipped play areas for children to engage in age-appropriate activities and play. These areas support healthy development, encourage bonding, and enable parents to interact and connect with their children.
Our centre is equipped with educational materials, books, toys, and interactive tools that support children’s learning and development. Parents actively participate in stimulating activities that enhance their parenting skills and create positive experiences for their children.
We provide access to recipes for balanced and nutritious meals for parents and children throughout their stay. Our aim is to ensure that families have access to healthy food options that meet their dietary requirements.
We are conveniently located near various local amenities, including parks, libraries, community centres, and healthcare facilities. This allows families to engage in community activities, access support services, and develop a sense of belonging.
