At Bright Spark Living, we provide comprehensive and evidence-based assessments for parents entering our centre. We assess their parenting knowledge, understanding, skills, motivation, and capacity for change, focusing on the areas outlined in the Letter of Instruction. Our assessments utilize various methods, Parent Booklet’ and ‘Knowledge Cards’, group work, staff observations, and specific risk assessments by qualified social workers.Throughout the assessment period, we offer weekly key worker sessions for families to discuss their progress and areas for development. Formal opportunities for monitoring, discussing, and planning occur at weeks 2, 6, and 10. Our assessments are fair, robust, and evidence-based, resulting in a detailed report that highlights strengths, weaknesses, and any ongoing risk or safeguarding issues. We provide clear recommendations for follow-up care to ensure a smooth transition back to the home environment or further care. In addition to assessments, we offer a range of specialized intervention programs designed to support families during their 12-16 week placement. These programs focus on parenting styles, attachment and bonding, parenting skills, emotional regulation, communication and conflict resolution, health and safety, age-appropriate play, positive reinforcement, nurturing healthy eating habits, and managing technology and screen time.
Our dedicated team of professionals facilitates these interventions through individual sessions, group activities, workshops, and practical exercises. We aim to empower families, foster positive change, and create a nurturing environment where families can thrive. With our expertise and tailored interventions, we strive to strengthen family relationships, enhance parenting skills, and promote overall well-being for a brighter future.
